Andaman and Nicobar (A&N) Electricity Department has recently issued a tender for a 20 MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project at Dollygunj, Sri Vijaya Puram. It has sought bids till September 29, 2026. In January this year, Andaman & Nicobar Islands attempted to set up a 20 MWh grid-connected Battery Energy Storage System. The erstwhile tender aimed to develop a 4 MW/4 MWh system for grid stability support functions and a 4 MW/16 MWh system for the storage and delivery of power.
